Looking For A Writers Group.

I was checking around to see if I could put together a writers forum. But the cost is is not worth it if I can't put together a group of those interested in writing. My best bet is to keep blogging here on Blogger. So now the mission is to find writers for the group. I'll keep trying to do that. Hopefully others will see this blog and join in. 😎

A new day of writing!

 November 4th 2024

It's a new day of writing. So how much time do you spend. From my studies on writing, one thing for sure. I need to write everyday. But how much time I spend writing, now that's another aspect of writing. For me at it's anywhere from thirty minutes to two hours. Anymore than that I lose brain power and inspiration. 

Now that doesn't mean I can't think about writing during the day, but not be at the keyboard all day. Still I am learning that learning the craft of writing is important. learning the craft will save a lot of time in putting together good and interesting stories. So are you spending some writing time today?

The New Kindle Edition

It's Sunday November 3rd, And I just received the word that my Kindle Edition of my book, Black Dragon Red Sun is ready for prime time. I'm excited to see that happen.

What's in a Mentor?

 

I've read a lot of books over the years on the writing craft. But after many years of trying to fine someone who made sense, at least to me, I ran across James Scott Bell. I found him to be a real down to earth guy. who may me feel inspired. Why, because he made me feel I could have some level of success if I was honest with myself. I love the way he lays out his writing journey.

I have his writing course on DVD and a book that I refer back to when I feel discourage. He make you feel like you're sitting across from in him in his living room, and discussing writing over a cup of coffee.

Just watch the YouTube Video here and you'll see what I mean. I feel so relaxed listening to him, I start thinking "Doughnut and Coffee. Hmmm?" 😎

The Novice Writer

 Welcome to the Novice Writer!

So you want to write. well so do I. I'm not an accomplished writer as in with many published books on the best sellers list. I have self published a memoir and a book of poems. But at age Seventy-Two I've decided I want more. For me at this point it's not about fame and fortune, but about leaving something behind for my family.

In the last year I have really buckled down in study, and to learn as much as I can about the craft of writing. I have run across some good study aids and what I consider a great mentor, through books and DVD courses. I'll share those more later. 

But for now I hope you'll join me here to discuss writing and its' pursuits. This is not a blog for professional writers though they are welcomed here. but in saying that this is not a site for critics. It is a site for sharing, mentoring, and learning about writing.
